Perfect My Brow Pencil by Benefit

Benefit was one of the first make up brands that I used when I first started to get into makeup which seems like a long time ago now. I remember my first products being the cheek stains, concealer and mascara and from then on I totally fell in love with the products and mostly I think it was the packaging. What are your favourite Benefit products?

I tend to be a little bit lazy with my brows and I don't get them done all the time I do often forget and do them every so often when I think think to my self 'ok I really should get these done now'.
I have never really invested much time or money into brow products before as I have dark eye brows anyway so never saw the necessity - Until now.
The only proper brow product I bought was some brow product from Sleek Makeup last year some time and I used it a few times but it gave me such a harsh brow colour that didn't really match my brows or skin tone so I just stopped using it and never replaced it until a few weeks ago and I am so glad that I did as the Precisely Brow Pencil is now firmly in my daily makeup routine.

The Precisely Brow Pencil is certainly a favourite of mine now for a few reason, firstly the fact it is so slim and easy to carry around and has all that you need on one product that being the pencil and spotty at each end and secondly that the pencil is so thin just such a great product that you can really mimic the illusion of brows without them looking like two blocks of colour on your face.
The effect that it gives my brows is great it just finishes them off nicely and looks so natural so its just perfect.

I am not sure how long the pencil lasts for as I have only had it for a few weeks but from what I can tell is that it will last a long time as you do not need a lot of product, which is handy as it is £20.00 which I feel is a little much for a pencil so I am hoping that it does go the mile and last for at least 2-3 months as I am not sure I want to be spending that much every 2 months on a brow pencil.

What are your thoughts, have you used the brow items from Benefit.

What to expect from this blog

Having a blog and a full time job comes with challenges the obvious being lack of time. Working a typical 9-5 job would be slightly more manageable but I am not sure if they really exist any more especially with travel time included but I think that is the world we live in now as things are always developing. Which is what I have found happening with my blog now, as time has moved on and my interested have developed I have decided to move my blog in a different direction.

I originally wanted my blog to be a place where I could incorporate fashion, beauty and fitness in one place but I have found as time has gone on that has not been a effective and I have spoken about doing my Personal Training course so that has lent itself to me starting a fitness blog where I can really focus on the fitness side of my life and offer programme for everyone, help and guidance and PT sessions. Once I have everything up and running over there of course I will share this with you all.

So onto this blog - I really wanted to make this slightly more personal and not just solely focused around fashion and beauty I want to start making it slightly more personal to me. There are thing that I have learnt through work or friends that I would love to share with you guys which previously I felt I couldn't do as it wasn't what I was marketing my blog to be, so I really excited to be able to start sharing these things with you and I hope you enjoy.

I want to create an areas of POSITIVITY on my blog - so there is an area of the internet where you can go where you can always find a bit of happiness or to change your mind set if you are having some down time. We live in a fast moving world now and are connected 24/7 and the internet can come with its downsides of negativity. I believe that a positive world is a much better place to be in no matter who you are or where are are and we should always be making others feel better.

SELF CONDIDENCE is not something that ever just comes over night it is learnt and something that can be developed. Some people who know me may thing that I am a confident person but I was not always that way, I used to be very shy and sometimes I still am which I believe is normal. SELF BELIEF come hand in hand with self confidence in that you can always do things if you put your mind to it and don't let others discourage you. Those who do know me know that is someone tells me I can't do something I get a over whelming urge to prove them wrong.

INDEPENDANCE - The ability to do something for yourself without having to rely on someone else is something that I have grown to value more as I have got older and learnt to love, I love the ability to do anything myself and no have to rely on others - that's not to say I don't appreciate it when others do things for me its just different feeling.

I hope this explained things well and would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below

April's Monthly Update

Finally we are in May and the sun it shining we have lighter mornings and evenings getting us ready for summer. These are defiantly the things that really get me excited for summer and put me in such a better mood and I think generally more motivated. I work that bit longer in the evenings, and waking up early doesn't seem that bad.

The start of April was a bit slow for me as work is picking up now at the moment so going to have to become more organised with my time now also. I mostly feel like I am organised with my time but then I go through moments if really not wanting to do anything so I will just relax and chill as I think that is my body's was of telling me to relax.

I have made some achievements in April that I am proud of I have kept up with writing some blog posts - I haven't let it totally slip by the way side. I just have not put as much pressure on myself to get posts out as I don't want to burn myself out.
I have passed my Level 2 Gym Instructor course which I am so happy about - so now I am moving onto my Level 3 Personal Trainer Qualification. That has taken up a huge amount of my time revising and getting exams done for that.

I have been keeping up with social media for the most part which I am happy with, but is something I do want to try and push and grow over the next month. I have got some great content coming up for my Fashion Page and planning on doing some more pieces for my Fitness Page. I want to start pushing out more workout content on my Fitness page to you guys can get motivated and do some stuff at home yourselves. So make sure you keep an eye out for that.

What are you guys in to in May have you got any goals set that you would like to achieve I would love to hear your side of things.

Life Sum App Review

Lifesum app

As you can see from the images above I am going to be reviewing the LifeSum App which I accidentally found through another Robin Gallant I did want to get a nutrition tracker so that I could start really seeing how much food I was able to get in a day and make me a bit more responsibly for my diet. I had tried the fitness pal app but I didn't really get along with it as it was bit too fussy for me and wouldn't fit into my day to day life that well.

I was instantly attracted to it yes because of the prettiness of the app and how user friendly it is, and it does make me want to use it more especially with the water tracking part where it fills up the glass and makes a cool sound. It fits so easily into my day to day life as it doesn't take long to get your meals on there and update your information.

When you first get the app you have to type in your details like your would normally with any fitness app like your age, height and weight and it then gives you questions of what kind of plan you are looking for - so if you are looking to loose weight, gain weight or to stay healthy. The app then tailors your intake goals based on that and the information you have typed in.
So if you wanted to loose weight it would reduce the amount of intake per day you need so you know what your intake aim is each day.

Lifesum app

Once you have completed that the first page you will see are your intake goals and around it will track your carbs, protein and fat intake which is great because you can see all of this at a quick glance and won't take you ages to analyse.
On this same page is where you enter your meals, water intake and any exercise that you do that day.

Entering your meals is quick and easy and there are a few ways of doing this, you can either scan the bar code on the food or type the food in and search for it in their database.
I personally use the bar code reader as it is just fast and easy and then I can change the quantity to what i actually had.

Lifesum app

The Lifesum App has two versions the basic and gold version for which you have to pay extra for a month but within that you get more choice of plans and meal ideas for that price which I don't think is too bad.

The database of food and recipe ideas is actually quite large and the best part is you are able to search for meals either by food groups you want or your fitness goals so for example if I want protein rich food there are options for that or options for for carby meals so it is quite intuitive to peoples needs.

Lifesum app

So all in all i do use it every day as much as I can as it can be hard at work sometimes with meal that I eat, but it certainly has helped me think about my meals differently and kept me eating healthy and eating the right kinds of food.

If you have used it and have any thoughts I would love to hear them in the comments below.

MAC In the Buff swatches

MAC In the buff

It has been a long time since I have managed to get my hands on a brand new eye shadow palette like this from MAC, the last time I was lucky enough to fill one of these up was when I was about 15/16 so over 10 years ago. So this was an amazing surprise from my dad who brought it home from Singapore for me without me even knowing which made it even more exciting.

All the colours are so pretty and just the ones I needed to add to my ever growing collection of eye shadow palettes. I wish I could wear eye shadow to work cause then I would actually be able to use my shadows a lot more and get more use out of them.

I have swatched all the colours at bottom of this post after the palette pictures.

Below are all the colours swatched with their names, to make it fair I swirled my finger in the shadow 4 times so you could compare how pigmented and easily transferrable they were compared to each other.
You will see that some of the lighter colours do not come out as well as some of the darker pigmented ones so I would suggest that these take a lot more effort to apply.

I hope that you liked this post, and if you have any thoughts on this palette or any of the colours I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

March Round Up / April look forward!

April Goals

Oh my God!!! How has it got to the end of March already... this year is going so fast and I can't remember time going so fast as it is now.

This month has been another crazy month and again I don't know how we have got to the 31st March.

Review of March

March was a little bit of a wash out for me, things got so busy at work it made it really hard to me to balance work out and doing my blog at the same time. Doing 9-5 is not always 9-5 and if my mind is not 100% in it at work things start to drop so sometimes my blog does take a back seat. Which is totally fine, its not ideal but I won't put pressure on myself to feel bad that it didn't work out the way I planned it to.

I did get some of my goals done for March I just didn't get as much of them done as I would have like, so I did quite a few posts and kept up with my social media platforms I just didn't post as much as I would have liked and that is fine, you should never feel like you have not achieved anything just because you don't achieve everything you set out to do. We are human and things do not always go to plan just re-plan and keep pushing on.

Goals for April

The clocks have gone forward and I feel like I am being more productive already - does anyone else feel the same? I am loving the lighter evenings and am getting really excited for summer to come and those warm days so I can put away my winter coat.

This months goals are still around the same areas of my blog, Fitness brand and me personally I like this split as it allows me to keep some kind of focus on what I want to be doing.
I want to get a bit more organised around writing my posts so I get more done at the weekend and not waiting until the weekdays which sometimes I get caught up with work so hopefully that will work out better for me this month.

I have started my fitness brand and now I want to really start to work more on my body and start to see some results. I am going to be little more strict on my workouts and planning them better so I really get out of them what I want and will be sharing these hopefully when I get into the swing of things.
Please do let me know if there are any workouts that you would like to see and I will work on these and get them out to you.

I started reading more books at the start of the year but as things got busier it kind of stopped so this month I really want to start making more time for this. I enjoy reading and learning more and it really does open your mind to wider world.
As things got really busy last month month things got stressful so I wanted to remind myself to take some time for myself each week so relax and detox, we don't need to be stressed in life it

Nutritional Series 2: Free Radicals

Hello my beautiful people, hope your all well? So today's post is continuing the series I am doing on the nutritional course that I am doing and as you can see is part 2 (Part 1 can't be found here) and is all about free radicals a term that I'm sure plenty of you have heard before?

What are free radicals?

I'm sure you have noticed that when you slice an apple open it slowly changes into a brown colour, or fish gets that really bad rancid smell? These are a result of a natural process called oxidation and happens to all cells. To protect and fight these free radicals your body provides a fighting mechanism in the form of antioxidants, which will be my next post in the series so be sure to stay tuned.

As oxygen is reacting with your cells this will cause these cells to change formation some may die or for example if you get a cut they will be replaced with fresh new cells, and this is a process that is happening 24/7 in your body without even realising it. Your body will always keep the right level of cells going around your body which is estimated to be around 37.2 trillion.

What do they do in our body?

Even though our body is very good at metabolising oxygen  1-2% get damaged in the process and their molecules turn into free radicals which means they are unstable molecules with unpaired electrons.
They are 'free' because of their missing electron which sends them into a frenzy to try and find another electron to pair with. When they are on the hunt to find another molecule they don't just kill other cells they injure other cells which in itself creates the seed for diseases.
When a cell is damaged it becomes mutates and when it grows abnormally it will also reproduce faster, which leads to health problems.

A free radical will pull off an electron from a neighbouring molecule causing the effected molecule to become a free radical itself. This one then pulls the needed electron from another neighbour and this chain reaction continues, this then causes a cross linking of atomic structures. When this happens that is what leads to ageing and degenerative diseases such as cancer.

External Toxins

There are many external influences that generate these free radicals such as cigarette smoke, UV rays, air pollution and even in foods we eat. When these are brought into the mix your body can not naturally fight these off which is why we need to eat more foods which are rich in antioxidants to eliminate these. The excess of these free radicals increasingly running through our systems causes these diseases such as cancer, Alzheimers and Parkinson's.

I hope you found this post interesting and has helped you understand what free radicals are all about. If you have any comments or anything please leave them below in the comment sections.

My Current Playlist

I don't think I would workout without m headphones in and a really good playlist to get me moving, so I love seeing what other people list to at the gym because everyone has such varied tastes and different music that gets them motivated. Quite often when I am in the gym and people have their big headphone in I do wonder what they have on, is anyone else like that?

My playlist does not vary that much and have only recently changed it up so thats why I thought I would share it with you guys. I generally will go for the latest songs that really get my motivated that are out on the radio at the moment. I find it hard to get motivated from old songs I'm not sure why but they don't energise me the way new songs do.

Do you have any playlists that you listen to in the gym, and what are your favourite songs that get you motivated? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

Feb Round Up / March Goals

I am not sure how it has gotten to March already but here we are, February has gone so quickly I barley know where it went. Which is why this month I do want to push myself a bit further to achieve a few more things.

So February for me felt like a bit of a wash out, even though it wasn't so much. Its funny how your feelings can be slightly different to reality but thats the beauty of it. So the goals I set for myself at the start of Feb were to to have a certain amount of posts up and going to the gym a certain amount of times, and somewhere through the month I seemed to drift a little and didn't re-focus myself mid-month.

I did achieve most of my goals which were mainly the gym based goals and taking some time to read two books in the month and managed to post on Instagram for 2 weeks in a row which for me is much better consistency.
I did just find out that I passed my first two exams for my level 2 qualification which is great and giving me great confidence to move forward.
The ones that slipped for me were my blog posts goals, so I didn't get up as many posts as I had hoped for. I did get 5 up so that is not bad going for someone working full time, commuting London-Manchester and studying for PT qualification.

The month of March....

As I said above I am going to try and push myself a little further this month, and try and get more of the consistency that I would like especially more so for you guys so you know more or less when posts are going to be going up and can keep track of what is going on.

I am defiantly going to be continuing with my consistency with my social media, I found that is certainly down to bit more planning ahead and getting my posts ready at the weekend for the week ahead. Who know scheduling would be such a god send.

One note to myself though is to remember to do a check point mid-month to make sure I'm on track and keeping that motivation going. Its hard when your pushing on with your own goals but no one said success is going to be easy.

I would love to hear your thoughts feedback or any question you have in comments below, or get in touch via social media - links are below.

Hope you all have a great weekend...

Career Change..?

If you have read my Goals for 2017 (Here) you will know that one of my goals for this year was to train and become a qualified Personal Trainer. So this is why I am now writing this post about a month and a half since I made that goal because it is finally coming true.

I have been into fitness for nearly all of my life when I joined the Gymnastics Squad at the ago of 7 at school. I was one of those students who naturally excelled in sports than academic studies so through out school I never got the greatest marks but I would happily spent 18 hours a week training.

I have been working in the IT sector for about 5 years now, and I have been very grateful for every opportunity that I have had and the experiences that I have been a part of, but fast approaching the age of 30 some times I still question myself of what I want to do for the rest of my life... Is anyone else the same?

Having a natural love for exercise and sport I still go to the gym and always find my self encouraging my friends to be healthy, and after a heavy gym session and I am knocked I get such a happy feeling that I have really done something. So that is partly what has pushed me into doing the course and pursuing this dream further and see where things turn out.

I would in the future love to own my own gym and clothing line to really help people change their lives and see what satisfaction you can get from being fit and healthy and to show people that its all boring and you can still have your chocolate and sweets (maybe just not as much).

I have now started my Level 2 which builds onto Level 3 after where I will then be a qualified Personal Trainer. I am so excited to start this journey to see where it takes me and hopefully will be able to inspire and help a lot of people to make some great changes in their life.

If you have any questions please do feel free to get in touch.
