Has anyone ever told you that
you cant do something or you never been able to speak up and say your piece?
I wanted to write this post
for a while as its quite personal to me, but have never really known if anyone
has felt the same.
I was the youngest in my
class in school as I was born to the end of August. I never really thought it
had any effect on your education or personality until I started reading
articles about the performance of those who were the youngest in their year. I
do believe this does play a part in a young persons life from personal
experience.
I was always the smiley, carefree
person at school and still am to an extent. I always saw the best in every
situation and took everything at face value. I never thought people would say
one thing and mean another. I would always feel like ‘the kid’ at school, and
never really felt like anyone would take me seriously which would sometimes
make me doubt myself and think maybe I couldn’t do things. I would never
believe in myself 100% until I had done it.
When decisions would be made
or some kind of seriousish discussion would me discussed I would never be taken
seriously and would dismiss what I had to say, so some of the time I would just
agree with everyone else. This does have an effect on your outlook and the way
you confront situations, as you get older.
I didn’t have a lot of
confidence at school educationally and would always be so shy when it came to
things such as reading out loud I would be so embarrassed, I would admire
people who have the courage to do such things.
These traits are still in me today I’m not always 100% confident when I speak
out or feel silly when I do. I have just learnt to have a bit more faith.
I started working at
Abercrombie and Fitch in London, after a few weeks of working there I started
to change. My boyfriend pointed it out to me and said I had become more
confident, and I guess I did. You have to put this front on when on the shop
floor a perception of happiness, don’t get me wrong I did love my job but its
hard to keep a smile for that many hours. We had to greet every customer that
came through so I became very confident in being able to speak to so many
different people.
I spent most of my school
years from the age of 7 training to be a gymnast, which turned into 18 hours a
week, which you can imagine has an effect of your social life. I would not
change that for the world as I have travelled around the world and met some
amazing people and some of who are still my very close friends.
As I have grown and gone
through different life situations and jobs I have grown as a person and grown a
certain confidence and belief in myself.
I have learnt not to listen
to what everyone else says, If you want to do something and believe you can go
and do it. You only get one life.
Hands on the clock only turn one way! – Little Mix
I am now starting my own
business and have decided to start blogging, which is a huge step for me
because I have never done anything like this before and it’s a little scary.
If you feel like your not
being heard or believe in yourself remember you can!! You only have one life so
make it count, everyone way born an individual, you don’t have to be like
everyone else, that’s boring. Only you can make things happen, and every step
in your journey will take you to another place and you learn so many things its
actually amazing.
So keep your chin up, Love
yourself and remember to believe in who you are and what you stand for!
Love it love your quotes it gives motivation to not give up lol
